Who are you?
I’m Elaine, and together with my husband, Mike, we photograph people who laugh a lot and kiss often. We tell stories of love and laughter, tears and sighs, and all the emotions that can possibly fit into a day. We believe in hospitality and kindness and the absolute power of a photograph.
Where are you located? Do you travel? Do you travel?
We are based in Miami, FL. We are always up for weddings and assignments outside of Miami. We have photographed weddings in North Carolina, New York, California and Spain.
What’s your style?
If you can bottle up laughter and happiness, you’d get our style. We like to let events unfold and try to find the truth and joy in the moments of the day. We want you to look at your pictures and be transported back to all the emotions you felt that day.
What is your favorite part of shooting weddings?
The whole day in general is a favorite because love is love and photographing people in love is one of my favorite things to do.
There are so many moments that are just perfect. How do you choose just one that encompasses all the emotion of the day? I love the anticipation as the bride gets ready, the nervousness right before the ceremony or the first look, the complete relief and elation of the portraits, or the downright letting loose of the dance party.
Things we would write home about.
I’m proudest of the fact that I get to tell stories for a living. As a kid, I always dreamed about a time when I could do this. Whether it’s the bride just before she takes her first steps into the church or soon to be parents eagerly awaiting the birth of their first child, every time I pick up my camera, I try to tell a story. I’m also proud to have been selected for the “Best of Weddings” by The Knot and featured in various wedding blogs like Floridian Weddings, Elizabeth Anne Designs and more.
What equipment do you use?
We shoot with Canon 5D Mark III and prime L lenses. We incorporate an arsenal of film cameras for engagement and lifestyle shoots. All of our personal work is shot on film cameras.
What are your thoughts on First Looks?
Funny you should ask. I wrote about the amazingness of a First Look HERE. First Looks are a great way to have a private moment with your love and take care of all the portraits of the day minus the stress.
Are travel costs included in your package pricing and how do you determine travel expenses?
Travel expenses are a separate cost, but we work with you to find the best prices and accommodations that work well for all involved. It is easiest if I book our travel itinerary, but I’ll work with you through the process. Travel expenses will generally cover lodging, airfare and transportation.
What about if we have ideas? Do you work with us?
Ideas, particularly ones that will showcase your personalities and relationship, help make sessions that much more personal.
What should I wear?
Read my post on what to wear HERE. My best bit of advice when it comes to outfits is to be yourself. You don’t normally wear identical outfits, so why start now? Just like you want your pictures to be unique, let your outfits reflect your individual styles. Want to coordinate colors? Then, find an outfit that reflects each person’s style in the chosen color.
Do you bring back up gear?
You bet we do.
Do you have insurance?
We carry a 2 million dollar liability policy. If your venue requires proof of insurance, please just let us know.
How many images will you deliver?
Since we are all-day photographers, we’ve got you covered from beginning to end. We usually average anywhere from 400-700 images upon delivery. For sessions, we deliver between 50-100 images.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer photo wrap or linen albums from RedTree Albums. Check them out HERE. They are awesome. Leather albums are available for an upgrade.
How long until I see my wedding photos and/or album?
I actually made a nifty timeline that explains the process from start to finish. Check it out HERE.
Will we get images on disc or USB?
Absolutely, you do. Full-processed images on USB or digital download all organized and pretty. You will get a print release with your delivered images that enables you to print any images that you would like.
Wedding commissions begin at $3,500 and portrait sessions at $500. Prices vary depending on whether you want an album, engagement sessions, etc. Please contact me for detailed rates.
How do I go about commissioning you for my date?
We take commissions on a first-come, first-served basis. A retainer fee of 20% and a signed agreement are required to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the wedding.
How can I pay you?
I accept all major credit cards, check, cash or paypal.
